Description
Omnipure ELF high-capacity carbon block water filter cartridges designed to reduce chlorine, unpleasant taste and odour while providing added scale inhibition to help protect downstream appliances and equipment from limescale build-up.
Available in two filtration ratings:
- ELF-5M-P – 5 Micron
- ELF-10M-P – 10 Micron
Both cartridges use the standard Omnipure ELF Large Bayonet connection.
The ELF Series is particularly suited to coffee machines, water coolers, ice machines, food-service equipment and underbench drinking water systems where high-capacity filtration and simple cartridge replacement are required.
Choose Your Micron Rating
ELF-5M-P – 5 Micron
The 5 micron version provides finer particulate filtration while still maintaining good water flow.
Recommended where finer filtration is preferred and certified cyst reduction is not required.
- >98% filtration at 5 micron
- >95% chlorine reduction
- Reduces unpleasant taste and odour
- Built-in scale inhibitor
- NSF/ANSI 42 certified
- Approx. 37,850 litre chlorine capacity
ELF-10M-P – 10 Micron
The 10 micron version provides lower resistance to water flow and is ideal where maintaining good flow is particularly important.
Recommended for coffee machines, water coolers and commercial food-service equipment where the main requirements are chlorine, taste, odour and scale control.
- >98% filtration at 10 micron
- Approx. 97% chlorine reduction
- Reduces unpleasant taste and odour
- Built-in scale inhibitor
- Lower initial pressure drop
- Approx. 37,850 litre chlorine capacity

Which One Should I Choose?
Choose the ELF-5M-P if:
- You want finer particulate filtration
- You want a balance between filtration and water flow
- The system is being used for general drinking water or food-service filtration
Choose the ELF-10M-P if:
- Maintaining water flow is the priority
- The incoming water is already relatively free of fine sediment
- The filter is being used primarily for coffee, beverage or food-service equipment
- Your main requirements are chlorine, taste, odour and scale control
Scale Protection
Both cartridges incorporate a scale inhibitor to help reduce the formation of limescale deposits within downstream appliances and equipment.
This can help protect:
- Coffee and espresso machines
- Hot-water equipment
- Water coolers
- Ice machines
- Beverage dispensers
- Commercial food-service equipment
Please note: A scale inhibitor does not soften the water or physically remove calcium and magnesium hardness minerals.
If actual hardness removal is required, an ion-exchange water softener should be used.
Filter Head Compatibility
The ELF-5M-P and ELF-10M-P cartridges on this page use the standard Omnipure ELF Large Bayonet connection.
They are designed for compatible Omnipure ELF Large Bayonet filter heads.
These cartridges are not the Small Bayonet (SB) version.
If you currently use an SB cartridge, please check compatibility before ordering.
If you are unsure which connection your existing system uses, send us a photo of your existing filter cartridge and head and we can help identify the correct version.
Applications
- Coffee and espresso machines
- Cafés and restaurants
- Commercial food-service equipment
- Underbench drinking water systems
- Water coolers
- Ice machines
- Beverage dispensers
- Commercial drinking water systems
- Pre- and post-RO filtration
Cartridge Replacement
For applications relying on scale protection, replacement at approximately 6 months is recommended.
Replace sooner if:
- The rated filtration capacity is reached
- Water flow noticeably reduces
- Chlorine taste or odour begins to return
- The cartridge becomes restricted by sediment
Actual cartridge life will depend on incoming water quality and water consumption.
Important
Activated carbon filtration does not remove bacteria or viruses.
Do not use with microbiologically unsafe water or water of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the filtration system.
