Description
The Omnipure ELF-1M-P-SB is a high-capacity 1 micron carbon block water filter with built-in scale inhibitor and a Small Bayonet (SB) connection.
The SB connection makes this cartridge compatible with many Everpure single-cartridge filter heads, including QL1, QL2 and QL3 heads, providing a high-quality Omnipure replacement option without having to change the existing filter head.
In addition to chlorine, unpleasant taste and odour reduction, the 1 micron carbon block provides greater than 99.99% reduction of cysts including Cryptosporidium and Giardia.

Everpure Head Compatibility
The ELF-1M-P-SB uses Omnipure's Small Bayonet (SB) connection, designed to fit a range of Everpure-style filter heads.
It is commonly compatible with:
- Everpure QL1 single filter heads
- Everpure QL2 single filter heads
- Everpure QL3 single filter heads
- Other compatible filter heads using the same Small Bayonet connection
Important: Compatibility with an Everpure head does not mean that every Omnipure cartridge has exactly the same filtration performance as the original Everpure cartridge it replaces.
The ELF-1M-P-SB is also not suitable for all Everpure multi-cartridge manifolds. In particular, do not assume compatibility with systems such as the Everpure QL7I multi-head system.

Small Bayonet vs Standard ELF
We also stock the standard Omnipure ELF-1M-P, which provides similar filtration performance but uses a different cartridge connection.

The Small Bayonet and Large Bayonet connections are different and should not be assumed to be interchangeable.
1 Micron Cyst Reduction
The ELF-1M-P filtration block provides greater than 99% filtration at 1 micron and greater than 99.99% reduction of cysts, Cryptosporidium and Giardia.
The Omnipure ELF-1M-P filtration block is tested and certified by NSF International to:
- NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for chlorine, taste and odour reduction
- NSF/ANSI Standard 53 for cyst reduction
This makes it particularly suitable for drinking-water applications where high-capacity carbon filtration and certified cyst reduction are required.

Scale Protection
The ELF-1M-P-SB contains a scale inhibitor designed to help reduce limescale and corrosion within downstream appliances and equipment.
This makes it particularly useful for:

Please note: Scale inhibition is not the same as water softening. The cartridge does not physically remove calcium and magnesium hardness minerals from the water.

Cartridge Replacement
For applications relying on the built-in scale inhibitor, Omnipure specifies a service life of up to approximately 6 months.
Replace the cartridge sooner if:
- The rated water capacity is reached
- Water flow becomes noticeably restricted
- Chlorine taste or odour begins to return
- The cartridge becomes restricted by sediment
Actual cartridge life will depend on incoming water quality, hardness and water consumption.
Installation & Flushing
The Small Bayonet connection provides quick cartridge replacement without requiring a filter housing spanner.
After installing a new cartridge:
- Ensure the cartridge is fully engaged and locked into the filter head.
- Slowly restore the water supply.
- Check the head and connections carefully for leaks.
- Flush the new cartridge for approximately 10 minutes before use.
Important
Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the filtration system.
The ELF-1M-P-SB provides certified cyst reduction, including Cryptosporidium and Giardia, but an activated carbon filter is not designed to remove bacteria or viruses.
For untreated rain, bore or surface water, appropriate disinfection such as a correctly sized UV water treatment system may also be required.
