Warranty on Lamps
One of the biggest questions we get is what our warranty on our UV products is what is the warranty on out UV parts. We simply adopt the manufacturer’s warranty on all our products and UV products are certainly under this policy. The complete Terms and Conditions from Polaris can be found above.
It is all pretty straight forward, but one thing that we will explain is Pro-Rated (or as we like to call it, Pro Rata) warranty. This form of Warranty applies to our UV lamps which have a limited life span of only 12 months before replacement is required. Under a 12 month Pro rata warranty, if a lamp fails before the end of the warranty period (12 months), it is replaced at a cost that depends on the age of the item at the time of failure. For example, if a lamp fails after 2 months, then it has 10 months left, so we will simply warranty 10 months, and you pay for 2 months’ worth. Unfortunately, shipping is not included under this warranty so this will also be extra.
To be honest, the most critical time for as UV lamp is startup, and once it has successfully completed this startup process, the lamp in theory will remain lit for 12 months without issue. We say in theory, as the primary nemesis of a working UV lamp is Power Fluctuation. Unfortunately LED Lamps which are much more resistant to environmental factors are not a readily available option yet, so we are all at the mercy of the New Zealand Rural power grid, which is a bit of a concern. Our Aftermarket UV lamps are of exceptional quality, and manufactured in the USA, but during the wet and windy Winter period, even our lamps are susceptible to power failures. It is for this reason, that we will happily Pro rata your first failure up until 12 months without too much fuss, but if you start getting multiple premature failures, we will require a deeper investigation into why the lamps are failing.
